Next Stop: AUSTRALIA!!!!
Procrastination is a serious problem.....
I am the worst when it comes to doing things in a timely manner. As hard as I try to get ahead of everything that I need to do, I always end up doing everything last minute. This mostly has to do with the fact that I get so stressed out about the stuff I have to do that my mind will completely shut down. With that said, I recently had to pack for a five month trip to Australia......
I'm sure you can guess right about now that I'm about to tell you I put off packing for my trip until the very last second and I can tell you that you're right! I didn't start packing until the day I left. I did have my carry-on bag packed a couple days before and I had what I was taking all together, but the bulk of the work was left for February 15. The day of my flight was intense! I had to be at the airport at 6:30 and I started getting packed and ready at about noon, leaving me five hours to get everything done. Now, ordinarily I would have been able to pull something like this off without a hitch, but five months in a foreign country is A LOT different than a weekend in California. At first, everything was running fairly smoothly. However, as the went on the atmosphere grew more and more hectic. By three, I was done packing my clothes and I had finished getting dressed and ready to go so my sister and I went to Dutch Bros. for one last Rebel. That ate up an entire hour and that's when the scales really started tipping.
It was now an hour away from when I had to leave and boy was I stressed. I was running around my house like a crazy person! I was throwing things in suitcases as fast as I could with my head all kinds of frazzled. Eventually I was able to make it out the door with what I thought was everything that I needed. As I'm sure that you're already assuming, I forgot a few things. I even forgot my hydro flask and I just put a bunch of new stickers on it for this trip!
My life is just a mess, it's fine.
