Easter Bunny's Comin' To Town

I know I'm a bit late, but I hope everyone had a great Easter!
On Good Friday a local Christian church came and put on an 'Easter Feast' at the International House for us. There was food from all over the world and some pretty yummy treats for dessert. The food was absolutely delicious, and free which is always a plus. After dinner and dessert had been eaten, they gave us a small sermon about what Easter was about and how it has evolved over time. Then their choir sang a few songs and we got to play some games. It was seriously so fun! After the games, a bunch of the students from IHD, including Devyn and I, got up and sang a couple songs as well (I included a video of this, sorry if it's a little awkward, it's a bunch of different people's recordings that were cut together). It was so cool to get up there like that. That was definitely not what I was expecting to be doing going into the dinner. After Devyn and I left, we played SkipBo, Spoons, and Spot it with a bunch of other students in Devyn's building. It was a really great night.
Saturday morning, we went to the Parap Markets which was definitely an interesting experience. It was a bit like a craft fair, but the also were selling a lot of produce as well. There was a huge variety of stands. There were didgeridoos, jewelry, clothes, purses/wallets, cutting boards, and so much more! It really wasn't the most exciting thing ever, but it was kinda fun. It was so early in the morning though and I was really tired after so I mostly just stayed in my room the rest of the day and tried to get some more sleep.
The next day was Easter! Because I wasn't with my family, I really didn't have much to do. Devyn and I ended up just eating candy all day and watching Easter movies like Hop and Rise of the Guardians. Later that evening, one of the other international students, Jenny, came over and made some fairy bread for us. Fairy bread is just bread with butter and sprinkles. However, it turned out to actually be really good and it sort of reminded me of cinnamon sugar toast that I used to make when I was younger. We ended up playing the same games we had already played on Friday all over again, just with a new group of people. Everyone left around 11 and Devyn and I stayed up playing SkipBo basically all night.
In all, I'd say it was a pretty good Easter. It may not have been as festive as Easter with my family is, but I was pretty happy with it. Besides, who doesn't like eating candy right?
