In order to get everyone in the mood for this delicious holiday, I wanted to make a list of few things that I'm thankful for this Thanksgiving and I hope today is amazing for all of you!
1. My Family: I know this a pretty typical thing to put on this list, but I am truly grateful for my family. I'm even grateful for my annoying brothers. I wouldn't be where I am today without them! They always have my back and at least some of them are always there to support me.
2. My Friends: Again, this isn't anything special, but I can't imagine my life without any of them. Each of them have such a special place in my heart and they might as well be family. They have brought joy into my life and in more ways than one I would not be here without them.
3. My Home: I'm not just talking about my house, there's millions of houses in the world but only one of them is my home. It's a really special thing to be able to call somewhere your home and not many people have that. It may not look like much, but there's something so comforting about being there.
4. God: He's so amazing and He ALWAYS has my back. If I ever need someone to talk to or if I'm just feeling alone, I know I can always count on Him to be there for me no matter what. He has blessed my life so much and I will forever be grateful for that.
5. My Dogs: I have two dogs named Olaf and Tinkerbell. They are basically my children and they always brighten my day.
6. College: I am so happy that I have the opportunity to be going to college. It's seriously such an incredible opportunity to be getting a higher education and has been such an amazing experience so far.
7. My Car: I can't even begin to explain how much of a blessing having a car has been. Because I have my car, I was able to work at McDonald's for two years and save up money for college, as well as become a lot more independent which has helped me transition to college a lot easier.
8. My Mom: She may not be physically around anymore, but I know she's always with me and watching over me. I am seriously so thankful for the time I was able to spend with her, but I wish I hadn't taken advantage of it. I really would not be who I am without her. She was my best friend and I looked up to her so much. As hard as it was to watch her suffer through her illness, it gave me an understanding of the world and knowledge that I would not have had otherwise. I also gained so many skills from helping take care of her.
9. My Mishpocheh: My best friend's mom has been my second mom basically since I met her. She's taken me prom dress shopping, school shopping, and she's always been there when I needed her. I call her mishpocheh because it's Hebrew for extended family. I'm so grateful for her and everything that she's done for me. Having her in my life has been one of the greatest blessings of my entire life. She has been there for me through so much and has truly changed my life. She does so much for me even when she's five hours away.
10. My Grandparents: I know I already said family, but I figured these two needed their own number. When I was very young, both of my grandmas passed away and I had never met either of my grandpas. However, there was a couple down the street from me that were friends with my parents and they would watch me after school while my mom was in the hospital or when she was at doctor's appointments or just because I wanted to go over to their house. The day I found out that they weren't biologically my grandparents was a very sad day. My family and I would go over to their house for Christmas and Thanksgiving and they treated us like we were actually related. In fact, I'm actually going to their house for Thanksgiving dinner today!
There's so much more that I have been blessed with, but if I named all of them we would be here forever. I have so much to be thankful for! I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving and are able to spend it with your family. Good luck Black Friday shopping!
